We feel it’s important for everyone who attends, whether volunteering or receiving food, to feel loved and honored. We love because God first loved us and we want to share our joy with everyone. We do not make faith in God a pre-requisite to receiving food or volunteering, but give families an opportunity to be prayed for after they have received the resources. Some say yes and some say no thanks.
The philosophy of CCP is to care for the whole person. That means their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Some of you will find that the newsletter and blog has too much spiritual content because your primary concern is meeting practical needs, food, clothing etc. Others are going to say that there is not enough emphasis on the spiritual. We are in search of balance, and allowing and encouraging each person to be themselves and not feel pressed into the mold of another.
Many of us who have moved from outside San Diego County realize the need to pull together. For example in one apartment complex in PQ, there are 28 different languages spoken. It can be overwhelming at times to raise a family and get to know other people.
